Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Foundation Review

I'm pretty sure that the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Foundation is one of the most talked about foundations in the beauty community, and as I've heard a plethora of amazing reviews of this from those with oily skin, I knew that I just had to give this a try.

I had a lovely colour-matching experience in Fenwicks in London; the lady who colour matched me was so lovely and chatty and ended up helping me choose a perfect shade for my skin tone. I was also incredibly impressed with the shade range that Estee Lauder have to offer with these foundations - there are 50 shades to choose from overall and (thank goodness!) the range isn't one that's totally white-washed with beige... *cough* Tarte and It Cosmetics *cough*...

When I first applied this all over my face, I definitely noticed the scent that the formula has - to me, and this may sound weird, it smells like very saturated baby wipes... which could be worse! The smells totally fades once it's applied on your face though, so I don't see it as much of a thing to worry about, but if you're very sensitive to scents then you might want to take this into consideration before buying. The coverage of this foundation though is out of this world! It covers my acne flawlessly, with or without concealer, and when my mum tested hers out (we both treated ourselves!) it covered all of the redness on her face perfectly too. Whats also fantastic is that the coverage lasts all day as well!

In relation to my oily skin, I did notice that by the end of the day I was a tad on the shiny side. But honestly, considering that I hadn't used powder or concealer at all that day either, I was incredibly impressed with how little my oily skin affected the appearance of the foundation by the end of the day. And the little shine that I did have, in my opinion, seemed more like a healthy glow that a full on oil slick, which is normally how I'm left after a long day!

Lastly, the only negative thing that I noticed about this foundation is the fact that it did dry my skin out a bit throughout the duration that I wore it. My mum also found this too, but we both agreed that it's probably something to do with the fact that this foundation is so successful on oily skin - it doesn't produce any excess oils to make the foundation separate on the skin. So for those of you with skin that's more on the dry side, you might want to ask for a tester or something before you purchase.

Overall, I honestly was blown away by the quality of this foundation, and I can definitely see why it's so hyped up in the beauty world. It's definitely become my new holy grail and those of you with oily skin really do have to try this, it's a game changer!

I'd love to know if you have any recommendations of foundations that work with oily skin, as I'd love to be able to find a cheaper alternative for this one as it is a little on the pricier side! So yeah, leave your recommendations below, and I'll chat to you soon!
