Sophdoesnails X Makeup Revolution Eyeshadow Palette Review

I've been watching Sophdoesnails over on YouTube for a while now, and when I heard that she was releasing a palette in collaboration with one of my favourite makeup brands ever, Makeup Revolution, I was super intrigued as to what it would be like. I'll admit, I don't often fall for 'collaboration' types of products, but when I saw the first promo pictures on Instagram of this palette I instantly knew I had to have it!

As you can see, the shade range is too die for! There's such a diverse range of shades here, from bright bolds to neutrals. I also love how she incorporated the classic warm toned matte shades that everyone seems to be raving about recently, as well as the typical crease shades, with some more outgoing colours, such as the bright purple metallic shade and the pretty khaki green. If you're a long-term makeup lover like myself, or a newcomer to the makeup world, I reckon this palette will be right up your street.

Now onto the most critical part of the review: how does this palette perform?
The bold and light toned mattes are wonderfully pigmented - in fact all of the shadows are really, but these ones stood out for me the most - and are really easy to blend on the lid. The darker mattes have to be built up a bit, but honestly I prefer that, as being very pale skinned means that I often end up having a huge dark blob at the end of my eye, but luckily this solves that issue. The only issue I had was when I tried to use the metallic shades with a damp brush; I found that instead of making the pigment 'pop' like it usually does, it actually just made the whole eye look blend into a murky mess.

In terms of longevity, these shadows last forever! Whether I use an eye primer (my go to one being the Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr Cream Eyeshadow in Creme de Nude ) or not they stay in place and don't fade all throughout the day, which is lovely when the last thing you need to worry about is whether your eye look still looks cute or not!

So yeah, overall I would 100% recommend this palette, as it's super affordable and performs like an eyeshadow palette that's way above it's price bracket. You can find it on TAM Beauty or at selected Superdrug Stores or Online
