Lime Crime Opals Hi-Lite Palette Review & Swatches

Lime Crime has been one of the brands that I've been dying to try properly for a long while now, and one thing that social media had got me obsessed over is their Opals Hi-Lite Highlighter Palette. It contains a cool toned, almost lilac, pink, a soft gold and a peach highlighter; this range of colour gives you a perfect selection if you're new to highlighting or if, like me, you just love to expand your collection and try out different formulations.

Each pan is 4cm in height and width, which does seem a little small considering that each highlighter would be £11 (as the price for the palette is £33 on Cult Beauty ), but the palette has a really nice weight to it, and its thickness suggests that you do get a good amount of product for the price. The packaging the highlighters are in is flawless! It such a pretty holographic pink, and is made of a very thick cardboard with a strong magnetic clasp.

As you can see by these finger swatches (from top to bottom: peach, gold, and pink), these shades are super pigmented! The skin swatches below aren't very prominent in the picture, but I can assure you they give the most gorgeous glow - they're honestly blinding! What I really love most about the shades is that they're all very different from each other. Some highlighting palettes I've tried or seen before have very similar colours that don't have much variation between them, and so it's really great to see that this one doesn't fit that description.

When I applied these to my skin they were very smooth and didn't exaggerate any texture on my face, which is quite something considering I'm very prone to acne. The only bad thing I noticed about the formula was that it doesn't last all day; I definitely had to re-apply at least once to maintain the glow throughout the day. Therefore, those of you who need a glow that doesn't budge might want to try an alternative to this palette. The formula is also silky smooth and doesn't contain chunks of glitter, which I wouldn't mind honestly as I can't get enough of glitter, but I know that most people don't particularly like that sort of thing.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this palette to those of you who love to play around and experiment with makeup, or who just want to start trying out high end highlighters due to the great range of colours. However, I probably wouldn't suggest that this is a great option for those of you who need your makeup to last a long time. Probably due to this, and my particularly oily skin, I wouldn't repurchase this or buy another of the Hi-Lite Palettes, as I need my makeup to stay on my face all day, and not fade.

I'd love to hear in the comments what your opinion on this palette are, and if you have any requests for future posts here on PerfectlyPopcorn

Thanks so much for reading this week's post; I hope you're all well!
