Bobbi Brown Limited Edition Makeover and Mini Haul

A couple of weeks ago, I was at my local Bobbi Brown counter, and when I got offered a complimentary makeup lesson, I simply couldn't say no! Here's how it went, and what I took away from the experience...

The Makeover

For my makeover, I went to my go-to Bobbi Brown counter in John Lewis at the Bluewater Shopping Centre. When I arrived, I was greeted by my lovely Makeup Artist for the day, Sarah. After meeting her, we talked about what I would like my makeover to revolve around, and I chose to sample the new limited edition collection that Bobbi Brown released recently: The Hot Collection.

To begin with, we focused on skincare. Being a girl with combination skin, I not only have to worry about break outs, but also making sure that my skin is hydrated. Therefore, Sarah decided to apply the Hydrating Face Tonic first, as it really made my skin glow and feel fresh and, most importantly, very hydrated. Also, it smelt wonderful! Next, she applied the Hydrating Gel Cream all over my face. and the Hydrating Eye Cream to the areas around my eyes. Lastly, she applied the Bobbi Brown Lip Balm SPF15 and let the skin absorb everything for a couple of minutes.

And then it was time for the makeup!

To begin with, we focused on concealing my terrible dark circles underneath my eyes; Sarah told me that it's good to start with this before you apply your face base product, as it allows the correct amount of coverage to be found and also it blends a lot better into the face products too. She applied the Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Bisque and then the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Porcelain. These two products combined worked wonders for my eyes; I ended up purchasing the Corrector, and it can be seen pictured in more detail below.

To my face, Sarah began with the Bobbi Brown BB Creme SPF 35 in Extra Light and added the Bobbi Brown Brightening Finishing Powder in Porcelain Pearl over the top. She finished by adding the lightest pink colour within the Bobbi Brown Electric Nude Cheek Palette in Pink to the apples of my cheeks. I also purchased this product as it was one of my favourite products used for this look.

For my eyes, Sarah used the Bobbi Brown Brow Pencil in Mahogany to fill in my brows, and the Bobbi Brown Hot Nudes Kate Upton Palette for my eyes; using the shades Ivory as a base, Nude Glow on the lid and Cement Sparkle in the crease. Also, she used the award winning Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eye Liner in Black Ink to line my top eyelid and waterline.

To finish with, the Bobbi Brown Art Stick Lipliner in Hot Berry was applied all over my lips.

Thanks so much for reading this post; if you have any questions or comments about the products mentioned, or any recommedations of Bobbi Brown products that I should try in the future, then please let me know in the comments!

I am currently slap-bang in the middle of the revision period before my GCSEs, so I shall try as hard as I can to post in the near future, but please excuse me if the next one is published later than I would try to post normally - wish me luck!
