MUA Luxe Lip Lacquer Reviews and Swatches

When I hear so many amazing things about something, my curiosity takes over and I just have to see what all of the fuss is all about, whether my bank account likes it or not!

I have heard so many amazing things about MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers and so I decided to give a couple a go; below are swatches and reviews of each shade that I purchased - enjoy!

To begin with, I think that the packaging of these is stunning; simple, classy and elegant. Also, I don't know about you, but black matte packaging just screams "Buy me!" - what do you think?

These being my first ever set of swatches, I'm rather proud of how they've turned out - although I think it's probably thanks to the actual product itself. Judging by the swatches, my first impression of these shades was just... wow! For only £3 a pop these are incredibly pigmented and have such a lovely burst of colour. However, once I applied them to my lips (as shown below) they became completely matte and did not have the glossy sheen that the swatches had, but I prefer matte lip colours and so this wasn't a problem for me.

Atomic, in my opinion, is my favourite shade as I absolutely love a statement red lip! However, the only thing that annoyed me with this colour, was the fact that the swatch looked a lot different to the shade once it was applied onto the lips. It could be my rubbish lighting I suppose, but somehow I don't think that such a difference could be made just because I had my bedroom lights on. Overall, Atomic is a orange-red shade.

The feeling of it on the lips is wonderful; you barely notice it's even there. Also, in terms of staying power, it barely budges at all - the only time I had to re-apply was after I'd finished lunch and it only had to be re-applied in the middle of the lips, the rest stayed in place perfectly.

The application is fairly easy; you do need to have quite a lot of control as clearing up any wonky edges is rather tricky, but overall the applicator served the product well.

I love the cute girly pink of A Flush, and I also find it has a coral undertone which makes the shade really unique and perfect for a statement lip. I have a feeling that this would be a better shade for warmer days as it washes me out in duller light due to my vampiric-pale skin.

Once again, the feeling of it was lightweight and the product stayed in place for ages.

The applicator was also very useful.

I love the bold purple-red tone of this lip lacquer, especially for adding a bold burst to any outfit. I also find that making this shade into a glossy lacquer by applying a clear gloss coating over the top is also really lovely and makes your eye colour stand out.

The feeling of this shade on the lips was also lightweight and stayed in place for a very long time.

The applicator was also good.

Thanks so much for reading; I'm sorry about the lack of posting recently - I've had too many deadlines to meet at school. But I really hope my first swatches post made up for it as I really enjoyed creating it!

Have you tried these lacquers before; if so what did you think of them? Are there any other MUA products that I should try?
