Nivea Moisturiser and Primer Review

And so my stressful week of mock examinations has finally passed, and this weekend I decided to take a browse in my local Boots and I ended up leaving with a couple of Nivea items as a treat for myself...

The first item I picked up was the Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer for Normal and Combination Skin. I've been meaning to try this out for ages now, and thank goodness I finally have as it really is rather brilliant!

I love how effective this product is; my makeup stays all day long, and it definitely makes a difference to how long my makeup would stay on if I didn't have it underneath. The consistency and texture is gorgeous! It has a very gel-like texture and is very cooling on the skin when applied, The scent is average - nothing special but not awful either. Another great thing about this product is the fact that a tiny bit goes a long way, which is a great thing for a student on a ridiculously tight budget.

Overall, this is definitely the best primer that I've ever tried, and I'm really pleased that it lived up to my expectations. I would really recommend this for people on a tight budget who also want a really good quality product.

Also, I picked up the Nivea Daily Essentials Rich Moisturising Day Cream as I was in dire need of an intensive moisturiser due to the fast approaching winter weather.

I wasn't to pleased with this purchase however; the formulation of the product is very thick, and when applied to the skin it is very "claggy" and it doesn't absorb too well either - it sort of reminds me of how hand cream sits on your hands when you first use it; which leads on to my next point. I've decided to stop using this as a facial moisturiser, but I tried using it as a hand cream, and as a lip moisturiser to prevent my lips from getting chapped in the night, and I've found that this works very well for both of these purposes instead!

All in all, I think it's fair to say that experimenting with products is a brilliant thing to try, and I will definitely be doing it more from now on! If you would like me to post my experimentation findings in the future on PerfectlyPopcorn, then please let me know in the comments below.

Have you tried either one of these products? Or do you recommend any other primers and moisturisers? Let me know in the comments!

Thank you for reading this week; my mock exams have been taking over my life at the moment hence the lack of posts, and I'm afraid that it is sadly going to be this way for a while, but I'm so greatful to all of my readers, new and old, and as I've recently reached 400 followers on Bloglovin', I'm thinking of doing a giveaway or some sort of celebration for when I reach 500 - so stay tuned by following me on the various social networking sites that I'm on. Links for them can be found at the top of the page.

Hope you're all well and stay warm as it's beginning to get pretty chilly!
